Mia, Mia, Mia

So, I'm just about done with the back, but have kind of lost steam on this project. So soon you ask? Unsightly ribs. I'm not sure if it is the cotton-ease, my knitting, or what. I don't seem to have this problem with smaller needles or wool...I'm going to push ahead and try to finish this sweater, but I kind of want to move to Grace if the ribbing isn't going to be clean on Mia in the cotton-ease. Hmmmm....decisions.

Cotton-Ease tends to have an uneven tension...but it will probably straighten out when you wash it. I've made things with it before, and it will look alot better after a blocking or a run through the laundry. Lovely blog! I enjoyed looking at your finished projects.

Hi Jennifer-

I've been trying to email you about your short-row comment on my blog, but I keep getting a message saying your mailbox is unavailable.

The thing that I've started doing that has made a lot of difference for my short rows is to pick up the wrapped stitches with the left needle. Let me see if I can make this make sense. So, you get to a wrapped stitch. Slip that stitch to the right needle for a sec, and slip the tip of the left needle under the wraps, picking them up. Then slip the actual stitch back onto the left needle and pass the two wraps over it. This should make it so the three loops (the stitch and two wraps) are all on the lefthand needle fairly straight, not all twisted together. Then knit them together through
the back loops.

I'll try to put a photo tutorial on my blog in the next few days, so check back!
